What a Deal - $50 for centrally-located Bangkok hotel
Modern, Entertainment, Sightseeing, Nightlife, Tourists
This is the first review written about this hotelAugust 13 2007: I stayed at the Windsor Suites Hotel in Bangkok almost 5 years ago when I lived in Koh Tao, Thailand for a year.  Here are the key things I can recall about the experience:

1) It was $50 a night - to stay in a "4" star hotel.  While the service wasn't up to 4 star standards, the facilities were definitely a solid 3.5 stars.  For $50 a night.  What a deal.

2) The views from the roof-top pool and the room were pretty awesome.  For Bangkok (I mean, it is just a massive sprawl of concrete that makes Manhattan look like the Amazon).

3) The room was nice and spacious...nothing fancy, but big.  So was the lobby - it was HUGE.

4) The location, right off of Sukhumvit Road, is very convenient for a lot of the sights you'll want to take in in Bangkok - and there's even easy access to the modern subway system, which is a good idea as you well know if you've wrestled with downtown Bangkok city traffic or had the pleasure of a death ride on the back of a moped taxi - never have I ever been so scared in my entire life!

Again, for the price, I think you'll be hard pressed to do much better in Bangkok, but deals abound in Thailand, so you never know!
