This is the first review written about this hotelAugust 26 2007: We stayed at the Affinia 50 during one of NYC Marathon Trips- the hotel was among those providing a nice discount for registered runners.  We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and their desire to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. When there was a small problem with our intial suite, we were immediately upgraded to even nicer accommodations. They even surprised us with a small package of toys and candy for our kids. Each of the rooms we saw were bright, clean, supercomfy and reasonably spacious by manhattan standards.

While the Affinia costs a bit more than a big chain hotel, it also offers a bit more personality and "posh-factor". The only things that would keep me from staying here again is the neighborhood: while its one of the safest in the city, I've always found it one of the most boring-- the nightlife, dining and shopping that suits my taste is more downtown or west side. Fortunately, the Affinia has a few locations throughout the city-- I might check them out as well.
