Not a frequent traveler (maybe one big trip a year) so when I do, it makes an impression.

July 26 2007: This was the overflow hotel for a conference we attended in May. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were standard fare-we slept fine. The hotel was under renovation- appeared to be some pretty major construction- certainly wasn't pretty with all the dust and tarps. The noise never seemed to get into the room however which was a blessing.
The hotel was near-ish to the Olympic park and the Atlanta Aquarium. We took cabs to districts and food as there wasn't much nearby to tempt a San Francisco palate. On one particular day we tried to find some southern cooking and ate a fried green tomato (was wonderful). Much to my sadness, the deep fried twinkie was not to be found.
Two issues-
1. The lobby starbucks was packed first thing in the day. One morning I actually read an entire chapter (I always have a book) while standing in a line that extended out in the hotel lobby. The SB staff was clearly trying to do everything they could to speed it up and accommodate us- even going so far as to offer us free food while in line.
2. Would have really killed for wireless in the room as we were switching out the hard connection between us depending on who needed to send email. We were there for a business conference- there was wireless in the lobby but the ongoing construction was too bothersome to make that a place to focus.
