May 20 2008: Simple hotel, excellent location, great value.The Cavalier is located right on Ocean Drive (the main drag) in South Beach. Housed in a historic Art Deco building, you can't beat the location.
Rooms were simple/basic but nice and clean - very few amenities (small TV, no wifi, small bathroom, semi-uncomfortable beds, etc) but just what you need for South Beach.
Lobby doubles as a seafood restaurant/bar (as many South Beach hotels do) which was convenient.
The location is amazing - a 2 minute walk to the beach, and right on Ocean Drive.
Price was right - we paid less than $70/night and were VERY impressed with what we got for the money. Not the place if you are looking for amenities or super-comfort, but if you are looking for a cheap/clean hotel with great South Beach location this is the place for you
