August 14 2007: I attended a Design Management Institute conference here in 1999 - they were an annual event at this hotel in the 90's. The facilities are perfect - a full conference center hiding behind the main building, and beach cottages for smaller seminars to break away from the main crowd. The guests are accommodated in the main house, a classic 19th century beach resort, as well as in houses up and down the main street that serve as annexes to the hotel. The service in both is equally efficient, although guests in the outlying houses may feel a little cut off from group activities (or enjoy the added peace and quiet). This hotel faces the Atlantic beach, which even in the fall is a glorious thing long after the water gets too cold for swimming. There are clambakes on the beach, bicycles to borrow for cycling in the nature preserves on Cape Cod's "elbow" a short distance away, and of course loads of fresh air and sunshine. A splendid retreat!

When I travel, I enjoy getting off the beaten path and creating new experiences. My favorite destinations generally include outdoor activities and comfortable place to relax afterward.
June 19 2007: I grew up close to CBI and always wondered who could afford to stay there. If you're up for splurging on a high society accomodation and dinner this is your place. The rooms in the main Inn are extravagent and dinner served there can be que romantica. The beach bar/cafe is a great bet for those looking for a more relaxed fare.
Great access from the hotel to Main Street and a water taxi to the beach.
