July 27 2007: I stayed at the Doubletree in April of 2007 for 2 nights before a cruise. My friend and I wanted to experience as much of Orlando as we could and wanted to. We chose the Doubletree due to the great location next to Universal Studios and for the great rate of $109 a night.
The proximity to Universal Studios makes this hotel an easy choice. However, this hotel has many more benefits than the location. The hotel has a great pool, sushi bar/restaurant , Starbucks coffee shop and a concierge for all your ticket needs. If you are looking to get outside the hotel, the hotel is located in walking distance of shops, convenience stores and a variety of great restaurants.
Overall, the rooms are in good shape and the service by the desk staff was all done in a friendly and efficient manner. A great hotel for everyone at a great rate and great location.
