A super golf holiday

This is the first review written about this hotelDecember 20 2007: I stayed here for a golf holiday given to me by a very thoughtful friend for my birthday. The package was for me and my sons to play golf on a PGA Tour course. However, as she was making the arrangements for the golf, my friend discovered we would need to be guests of the hotel in order to play there. Thus the package deal.

I’ve actually been here several times to watch the Byron Nelson Golf Classic which is played here during the spring of each year on the Four Seasons own TPC course and on the Cottonwood Valley course across the street.

This is a gorgeous property spread over a few hundred acres, and the golf course is first-rate as one would expect. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and had a great time playing this very challenging course. In fact we played a couple rounds over two days there.

Our rooms were excellent, and richly decorated giving the feel of true luxury surroundings. I always enjoy a hotel that doesn’t feel like a hotel, and this one was in that class. Everything we could have asked for was provided, from plush robes to extremely soft beds.

The food in the restaurant we ate at was superb and the staff always helpful and courteous. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the pool inviting. There are also stand-alone villas that can be reserved if you’re looking for larger, private accommodations, set away from the main buildings.

All together, it was an excellent holiday and I’d quite relish a return stay.
