Great location
Classic
May 17 2008: I really like the location--however, the hotel is just ok.  Pretty clean--if you can get a decent rate and aren't looking for anything spectacular---this is the hotel for you.

Good deals can be had here
Downtown, Tourists
July 17 2008: At under $200/night on a weekend at this location, it was a great deal.

The hotel itself is nothing special (if you're at all familiar with NYC, you've probably seen it).  As soon as you enter your room, it is obvious that this is an old hotel that has been refitted in a fairly drab way.  But the rooms are perfectly clean and adequately appointed.

By far the best feature of this hotel is its location.  While it's not the trendiest of spots, it is possibly the most convenient.  Located on top of Grand Central Station, it is about as good a jumping off point as you will find for reaching most areas of the city.

Don't come here if you are looking for atmosphere, but if you're a tourist looking for a good base from which to explore the city at a reasonable price, you should check this place out.

Centrally Located
Downtown, Modern, Lively
This is the first review written about this hotelDecember 27 2007: This hotel is centrally located. It has a large lobby with a number of restaurants and stores. Some of the rooms are small. It is generally a mid-priced hotel for NYC. When the price is right, I stay there.
