Not Great, but certainly not bad
Downtown, Classic, Quiet, Sightseeing, Business People, Tourists
This is the first review written about this hotelNovember 7 2007: I was in Boston for quick business trip and almost everything was booked up.  The Hilton was still available so I thought I'd give it a try.  Overall, it didn't wow me, but it also didn't disappoint.

Location -- Well located downtown, just a few blocks from Fanuiel Hall and the Waterfront.  The area is mostly commercial/business, so it can get a little deserted at night.  It's certainly not as lively as staying in Back Bay, but if you like a quieter feel and the convenience of shopping/tourist spots closeby, it's not bad.  However, public transportation is probably a good 5-10 minute walk away.

Rooms -- This is an older hotel (but renovated) -- and the rooms reflected that -- classic, quiet, tall ceilings, a bit on the smaller size, but appeared to be very clean and well kept.

Service -- The staff throughout was very friendly, from check-in to check-out.  Notably, I had changed my schedule and needed a late check-out and they accomodated me quite easily, even though they were sold out.

Overall, I wouldn't object to staying here again, but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to either.  There are much more impressive hotels and neighborhoods in Boston where you can stay.  However, if you're looking for a decently located and quiet option, one that's part of the Hilton chain but still doesn't feel like a huge hotel, this isn't a bad choice.
