Pleasantly Suprised!
Business People, Families, Tourists
This is the first review written about this hotelNovember 8 2007: I was in the area for business for a night and needed a convenient place to stay.  Usually, I stay at the nearby Hilton Anaheim, but I thought I'd give this a try.  It's only a short drive away (<5 minutes) and I've never stayed at a Hilton "Suites" before.

I was actually very pleasantly surprised by this place --very large rooms, extremely friendly service, and a good value for the money.  I would definitely stay here again for business or pleasure, but there are also definitely some tradeoffs.

Location -- Near the highway, but that's about it.  It's pretty much in a desolate strip of land and you definitely need a car to get around.  With that said, however, it's a quick drive over to Disney or the convention center and you're away from the traffic of the main hotel drag near Disney.

Room/Decor -- This hotel reminded me a lot of an Embassy Suites.  Of course, all the rooms are suites, and they all face an inner courtyard.  Rooms are very spacious, with separate bedroom, bathroom with separate tub and shower, and living room with sofa and wet bar.  I was upgraded to a larger room with a large conference table, which also came in handy.  The decor is modern enough, but probably a few years old.  It wasn't the nicest linens and furniture I'd seen, but it was certainly functional and a huge amount of space for the money.

Food -- Very limited selection.  There was a small restaurant downstairs, which also served as the source for room service, but the menu was very limited.  There's a restaurant right next to the hotel property, but it's mostly bar food.  For anything decent (not that there really is in this area), you'll need drive elsewhere.  Breakfast buffet downstairs was decent, although not spectacular.

Amenities -- Fairly limited.  There's a pool and small fitness center, but I never got around to using it.  Parking is free (again, a better value than the Hilton Anaheim).

Service -- Very friendly!  I couldn't have felt more welcome.  At check-in, they even had a welcome letter, with a stuffed bear and a bag of candy waiting for me ... not that I was going to find any of that useful, but it was certainly a nice gesture.  Bottles of water and some cookies were also waiting for me when I entered my room ... all nice, thoughtful touches.

All in all, while I'm not a huge fan of this area, the Hilton Suites is definitely a worthy choice if you need to stay here.  If you're there on vacation, it's close enough to Disney (just make sure you have a car), but you get a much better value for your money and you get some more peace and quiet.  Just be sure you're ok with having to drive everywhere, as there is nothing in the immediate vicinity.
