This is the first review written about this hotelNovember 23 2007: This hotel is located a few miles north of the city's central business district. It's steps away from SMU campus, luxury high-rises, historic homes and high-end shopping. There seem to be no other hotels in this area, so Palomar is really a hidden treasure.

Normally an overly friendly staff is a turn-off for me, but everyone I encountered seemed very genuine. I chatted with a valet, a waiter, and the doorman. They were really good people. The front desk staff perfectly balanced professionalism with humor and personality. It's very refreshing to see people in a luxury hotel who obviously enjoy their jobs.

Palomar has  Exhale Spa on premises and a restaurant that's a hot spot all on it's own. It's definitely not your typical "hotel restaurant". There's also a fitness center, outdoor pool and hot tub, business center and 24hr room service. I've been told that the hotel is "green" also.

My room was spacious and beautifully decorated. There was a plasma tv and dvd player. I stayed for 3 nights and it truly felt more like a mini vacation than a business trip. The only negative about my experience was that the late night room service menu was very limited, and for some reason the food wasn't as good as food ordered early in the day. If not for that I'd give this hotel 5/5.

But, 4/5 ain't bad...I LOVE this place!
