Not Luxurious, Not Romantic, Not Hip, Not Rustic, Not Classic, Not Quiet, Not For Business People
July 16 2007: The Loews is a crowded and tacky place full of all the kind of people who I try to avoid in all of my travels. For the same price as staying at the Ritz Carlton next door (which I did the night before) I stayed at the Loews in a room that reminded me a of a Hampton Inn on the side of the highway. Although they have tried to make it "cool" with flat screens in each of the rooms, the bathrooms are similar to cheap motels and the service is poor. If you enjoy smoking Newport cigarettes and drinking "Buckets "O" Booze" by the pool with fellow hip-hop wannabees - then the Loews is right for you!

Location. Located directly on the beach in South Beach's Art Deco District, the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Fla., stands three blocks from the Miami Beach Convention Center. Lincoln Road pedestrian mall is positioned one block from the hotel. Hotel Features. A palm lined corridor leads to a tiled lobby with stately columns and sweeping staircases. Emeril's Miami Beach presents the celebrity chef's famous menu of New Orleans style cuisine and hosts Emeril's Jazz Brunch every Sunday afternoon. The fashionable Hemisphere Lounge serves more than 350 varieties of martinis. Preston's provides oceanfront ambience and prepares Mediterranean fare, while Sobe Coffee Bar serves coffee, pastries and fresh fruit juices. The poolside Nautilus Bar prepares grilled selections. Function space accommodates from 30 to 3,000 attendees. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee, and a business center offers fax, photocopy and print services. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool with a cascading waterfall, a children's outdoor pool, and a spa tub. The limited hour fitness center contains a full range of workout equipment and offers classes including Pilates, spinning and seasonal beachside yoga and power walks. The Elemis Spa features a global menu of 24 treatments, steam rooms, spa tubs and the Calming Lounge. This hotel offers a Very Important Teens programs and hosts supervised recreational activities for children. Pets receive signature gifts, and the hotel provides local grooming and veterinarian contact information.
Guestrooms. The Loews Miami Beach Hotel offers 790 rooms with light toned furnishings. Beds are draped with 400 thread count linens and tropical weight comforters topped with decorative pillows. Room amenities include high speed Internet access for a fee, 42 inch LCD televisions and MP3 adaptors. Art Deco lighting is reminiscent of early to mid 1900s design. Minibars and coffeemakers are available in every guest accommodation.
