I couldn't imagine a better hotel for my trip. The Nine Zero is on Tremont which is very central to downtown. I could walk to all of my meetings which always makes me happy. I also walked to Beacon Hill (10 min) and Newberry Street (20 min). But you don't have to walk far to get the feel of historic Boston- right across the street is an old graveyard where Paul Revere is buried!
This hotel is modern and hip. The interior is sleek but comfortable and there is techno-like music pumping through the lobby. It isn't loud or annoying, just something you notice. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
My room was quite large with modern furnishings. I had a king sized bed with soft, luxurious linens and the softest pillows you can imagine. If you are into beds, I highly recommend this hotel. The bathroom was large and beautiful - marble fixtures and very clean. I could not have been happier with the room.
The hotel is pet friendly and I saw several guests with dogs. No pets are allowed on the 11th floor, so if you have allergies, this may be the floor for you. The staff doted on the pets and from what I overheard, even provide a welcome kit with doggie biscuits.
I tagged this hotel 'eco-friendly' because they had literature in the rooms about the programs that Kimpton (the hotel group) supports- many of which are environmentally focused. In addition, they had a recycling trash can in the room which I don't see that often. I commend them on this effort.
The hotel restaurant, KO Prime, isn't that great. I felt like it was very overpriced, especially for breakfast. The serving of granola and oatmeal were tiny and not that good. You'd probably be better off going out. Upon my arrival I had dinner there, which was ok, but nothing special.
Also, if you are a spa-nut, this isn't the place for you. They offer in-room services, but they don't have their own spa.
I paid a bit under $200 for the rooms and I felt like it was a good value.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Boston- business or leisure - because of its central location, cleanliness, and friendly staff.
