It is reasonably priced- we stayed there in May and it was about $150 (midweek rate).  The hotel is right in the historic part of Newport and you are able to walk to shops and restaurants which is a nice because walking through Newport is the best way to experience it.  

The couple who own the Samuel Durfee House was great- very friendly and they cooked us an excellent breakfast that was the perfect way to start a busy day in Newport.   

The rooms are charming - very well decorated and are what you would expect from a top-tier bed and breakfast.
