Budget, Not Romantic, Not Quiet
June 12 2007: If you are looking for an inexpensive motel in Abingdon, I would highly recommend staying somewhere OTHER than the Super 8 Motel. The Abingdon/Bristol area is packed with motels located right off I-81. Although I have experienced worse motels, I can't imagine that for about the same price ($60/night) you could go wrong with any of the other options.Several issues:
1. non-smoking room, smelled like smoke
2. the carpeting, bed coverings, and furniture are worn out and dirty
3. The continental breakfast consists of packets of instant coffee and little boxes of cereal. Also they have the breakfast sitting in the tiny lobby with only two tables and four chairs.
4. The motel appeared to have full time residents who were loud and loitering around the motel
