July 11 2007: The Curtis is a recent renovation of some less character-filled CBD hotel. Each floor has its own theme such as comedy, sports, sci-fi, or retro tv. Most of the decor remains in the hallway with the rooms left largely free of over-kitsch. Free wifi, large room with great bathrooms and iPod alarm clocks.
Restaurant and fitness center were not open in April 2007 (but did open Summer 2007) but there was an all-night stand offering non-alcoholic drinks, games, and other entertainments.
Very whimsical, but the rooms and service are good enough to overcome it.
Location. The Curtis is located in central downtown Denver, Colo., directly across the street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The Colorado Convention Center is one block from the hotel. Sixteenth Street Mall is two blocks away. Pepsi Center and Coors Field are one mile from the hotel. Hotel Features. Contemporary oak paneled walls and modern lighting decorate the hotel's lobby, which includes a café, lounge and sitting area with television. The hotel's signature restaurant, Corner Office Restaurant and Martini Bar, serves contemporary American and regional cuisine. Meeting and event space is available in the hotel's 20,000 square foot conference center. Complimentary wireless Internet access is offered throughout the property.
Guestrooms. Each of the hotel's 16 smoke free floors features a distinctive theme, including the "Big Hair Floor" and the "Fun and Games Floor." Guestrooms are decorated with wooden furnishings, striped rugs and unique accents like VW Beetle alarm clocks. Complimentary wireless Internet access is included.
Expert Tip. Sixteenth Street Mall, a popular tree lined pedestrian walkway featuring restaurants and shops, is located two blocks from the hotel. A variety of events and entertainment take place here daily.
