June 26 2008: I stayed here twice for business and I always had a great stay. You get your bucks worth here. I love everything about this hotel. They have 24 hour room service with full menu selections from both restaurants, free internet, nice bath products and seductive dim lighting throughout. It is hip and stylish. Food is excellent in both restaurants. The japanese has the best sushi. My fav was the outdoor terrace for dining or sipping mojitos. There was a little bit of wait with a reservation - the restaurants here are popular so call ahead. My room was small, compact but had a great view of the Hudson. Nice staff. I love the ship room design and portal windows, which allows just the right amount of natural light. Impeccably clean. My bed was super cozy. My only complaint was that my room did not have a tub and I believe most rooms do not but the fluffy soft towels made up for that. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the clientele. Nice location. Close to many fab shops in Chelsea and Meatpacking District. It is a great boutique hotel with a fast pulse. I will def stay here again.

June 14 2007: The Maritime is built in the old Maritime Union headquarters . The hotel keeps the ocean theme with its portal style windows and ship stylings. The rooms are small, but are tastefully furnished and the wood paneling makes them feel like ship cabins. There is a lobby for seeing and being seen, and the sushi bar downstairs is one of the best in the city. Definitely one of the more interesting hotels in New York.
