This is the first review written about this hotelJune 14 2007:

Undoubtedly, Thailand holds much fascination for many people. For me, I always look to traveling as a form of escape, an adventure you might say, from the grind of a working life that entails long hours and forced creativity.

I adore the luxe life, but can be completely at home with something comfortable and clean. But, my quick getaway to Bangkok found me at the SUKHOTHAI. Just the right amount of modern luxe, done by the very talented Ed Tuttle, the interiors never intrudes on the senses. I find the hotel rather calming, but hospitable. The staff is extremely well versed in pleasing guests with pretty radical requests. The swimming pool was a real cruising scene that weekend; loads of well-sculpted bodies parading away, while sipping on colorful drinks, and towards sunset, the champagne flutes came out in full force.

Rooms are comfortable and are of the hard-to-get-out-of-bed variety with wonderful bathrooms. Breakfast in bed was well served, with all the best accoutrements one could wish for. Food quality in Bangkok is already exceptional however, the SUKOTHAI’s F & B receives full marks for their local as well as continenetal cuisine . All elegantly served with the graciousness that the Thai people are known for.

All told, a superb weekend, if a bit pricey for the norm, but totally worth the SUKOTHAI experience.
