I'm a Canadian guy based in Amsterdam. I seem to be in almost a constant state of travel. I frequently make weekend trips around Europe, and take full advantage of the 5-7 weeks of paid vacation that you get in the Netherlands. I am also interested in the Travel 2.0 web space.
June 15 2007: I made a trip in early December 2006 with my wife to Switzerland. While in Zurich we stayed at the Sofitel Zurich. I booked here because AF/KLM had a double your miles deal going at the time. This hotel is well located in the city, 5-10 minute walk to everything. The hotel itself is what you can expect from a chain hotel. The rooms are classically deocrated and clean. Staff is friendly. A couple nice things I remember was
1. The rooms have real king size beds. Very thick and soft mattresses. Rare for a European hotel.
2. They have a nice selection of cigars on hand in the lounge. Enjoyed coming back from a night on the town and enjoying a good Swiss cigar.
