June 12 2007: We flew into Santiago to start our chilean journey last year. We decided to stay at the ritz the first two nights because of the price through American Express. Lots of good. easy to assimilate coming after an all night flight. Everyone spoke English. The food even seemed American. We were able to get a car and every other convenience imaginable. Service was impeccable. Pool on the top is magnificent.
However, if you are traveling to Chile to soak up the culture this is not the place. very American and business oriented. Not a bad thing just a fact. We had a great dinner at the little spot across the street - owned by an expat. However, the sushi restaurant we discovered took the cake...
Overall i do think this hotel represents the business culture of Santiago and provides you with a central location for visiting Neurado's home, the Virgin Mary, the Fish Market, main Catholic Church (beautiful service we stumbled upon)
Remember to book with your AMEX.

I'm a software engineer in Silicon Valley working on Hotmail. I'm also a new parent. My wife and I both love to travel and are always looking for great memorable places to stay.
June 11 2007: This is a great luxury hotel to stay in when visitng Santiago. It's in a great neighborhood, with lots of restaurants within walking distance. It's close to the metro which can get you anywhere.
The rooftop has a pool/spa and is very relaxing.
The service is great... meets the high standards of the Ritz.
