October 26 2007: This Ritz, centrally located downtown and adjacent to the U-Bahn, is perfect for the business visit. In-hotel restaurant options are strong; the lobby lounge is outstanding. There are several moderately priced but excellent dining options within 100 yards of the hotel. Basement spa/gym offers no views, insufficient pool for lap swim, but a relaxing environment nonetheless. Marriott is adjacent.

Location. The Ritz Carlton, Berlin (Germany) is across from the Sony Center on the Postsdamer Platz. The hotel is within walking distance of the Bradenburg Gate, the last remaining gate of the Berlin Wall. Also within walking distance, the Reichstag houses the German Parliament and has witnessed many historical events. Just two kilometers from the hotel, the Gendarmenmarkt is home to the French Cathedral, the German Cathedral and the Concert Hall. The property is 11 kilometers from Berlin International Airport in Tegel. Hotel Features. At the Ritz Carlton, Berlin, the indoor pool sits beneath a ceiling decorated with clouds and stars. The Lobby Lounge features afternoon tea service by a roaring fireplace. A complete health spa includes a fitness center, spa tub and massage services. More than 1,800 square meters of conference space is available for banquets and special events. Several restaurants offer a variety of dining indulgences, including a cigar bar, French brasserie and private banquet room. The hotel's formal restaurant, Vitrium, offers gourmet seafood and fine Italian wines in an environment reminiscent of a Venetian villa.
Guestrooms. Inspired by architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the Ritz Carlton, Berlin's guestrooms feature marble bathrooms with multiple mirrors, separate sunken bathtubs and dual sinks. Fluffy bathrobes and slippers are combined with designer toiletries and cherry wood cabinetry. Beds are dressed with multiple pillows and featherbeds. Wireless Internet access, mineral water and CD players are standard. Select guestrooms include bedroom vanities with makeup mirrors, and comfortable seating areas with sofas and armchairs.
Expert Tip. The Ritz Carlton, Berlin boasts a La Prairie Spa, aptly named La Prairie's Art of Beauty. With an emphasis on pampering, the spa features licensed therapists that can recommend personalized treatments such as caviar facials or massages to relieve jet lag.
