June 15 2007: This is one of Germany's top business hotels. I was here in 2002 on business with Deutsche Telekom, which is practically next door (I could see the big magenta neon 'T' from my window.) The hotel is vast but the attention to guests' comfort is top quality. There is a concierge on every floor. When I found that the room I had been assigned smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, I was immediately reassigned to a spacious 'presidential' suite - very nice! The on-floor concierge refused to let me go down to the main desk but insisted on resolving the situation right there on our floor. Then they delivered a basket of fresh fruit to my new room.Very impressive. Too bad I was only here for one night!

The Maritim Hotel Bonn is a large conference hotel located on the edge of the Government District, 200 metres from the Rhine and 500 metres from Museum Mile. The 410 air conditioned guestrooms feature light, modern decor and furnishings, and are equipped with cable television with pay movies, direct dial phones with voicemail, minibars and safes. Bathrooms include baths, showers, hair dryers and complimentary toiletries. The hotel houses 16 fully equipped conference and meeting rooms to suit a wide range of business needs. After a day of meetings or sightseeing, guests can unwind in the sauna, health spa and massage treatment room, or take a dip in the indoor pool. The hotel offers a choice of dining options, including the Restaurant Rotisserie, a buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the Bistro La Maree, an a la carte restaurant open during weekday evenings. Coffee and complimentary newspapers are available in the hotel lobby, and garage parking is available for approximately 12 per day. The 24 hour front desk staff are on hand to exchange currency, arrange childcare and provide room service. The hotel is located 500 metres from the museums on Museum Mile, such as the Bonn Art Museum and Museum Konig. Beethoven's birthplace and the Siebengebirge mountains are both five kilometres from the hotel. Cologne Bonn Konrad Airport is 25 kilometres from the hotel, and can be reached in approximately 20 minutes by car.
