Residenz Heinz Winkler

October 3 2007: In December 2006 we stayed at German’s top chef Heinz Winkler’s hotel/restaurant Residenz Heinz Winkler He has a wine bible of over 950 wines. Never seen so many wines listed in a restaurant wine list before. Apart from a really really excellent diner, the sommelier did an excellent job by waltzing the wine of choice fully around in all the glasses. It enhanced the experience of tasting tremendously and I had never seen a sommelier do this before.

So in December 2007 I will stay there again to see if the experience is replicable.

Aschau im Chimgau is located between Munich and Salzburg.

 Winkler has participated in preparing some of the most sumptuous dining sprees in the Far East.....
