June 27 2007: In every aspect, this was the single best hotel experience I've ever had. Every corner of the hotel was beautifully designed and decorated, with a modern but classical feel. Our room (a standard, not delux, room) was clean, bright, beautifully appointed, and had an amazing view (the mountains and a city/ sea view). The pool and spa area is phenomenal -- you can literally lounge in the pool and have a drink brought to you while overlooking all of Barcelona and the Mediterranian. The staff is incredibly friendly, and all speak English. The food was expensive but good (not great), but that was a minor negative compared to the overall experience. I definitely will be going back....

Great spa, as well as jacuzzis with views of city, sea and mountains, make the out-of-the-way location something of an advantage in this frantic city. There's just the faintest whiff of the corporate/resort about this, which may put off some perfectionists.
