I prefer a combination of activity (hiking, jogging, swimming) on vacation, relaxation (reading), and good meals. Small hotels are preferable to big chains and historical settings are ideal.

June 21 2007: Fine value - they consider themselves "Luxury" but there are more luxurious hotels out there. Clean, good restaurant, mediocre staff attention (impolite), great location in central Oxford. Rooms are less desirable than the public spaces. Good for a business trip or a reunion weekend, would not be appropriate for young children. Fun bar in the evenings.

A classical yellow stone corner building, the Royal Oxford Hotel is located in historic Oxford's city centre, 200 metres from both the train and bus stations. The 26 air conditioned guestrooms feature warm decor with soft furnishings and light wood furniture.
