October 11 2007: This was the ultimate. It's a Dominican mission transformed into a museum and hotel. The rooms are rustic and cozy with plenty of space and are equipped with al the amenities. This hotel is like a compound. Once inside the gardens and swimming pool are an incredible paradise. There is a view of the volcanoes (antigua lies in a valley of them). The maintenance crewis often rearranging the orchids that grow from little shelves in the trees. It's a huge contrast to the cramped streets full of backpackers, peddlers, and such. Incredibly relaxing and beautiful.

February 6 2008: This is one of the nicest resorts/hotels in central america. The grounds were fantastic. It was built on the ruins of a monestary that fell during an earthquake. I went for a wedding and it was one of the nicest I have ever attended. There are many things to do at the resort as well as in Antigua.
