I really appreciate a great hotel and am willing to pay (within reason). Typical split personality: family w/ 3 small kids and business exec road warrior. Hotel priorities are location, cleanliness, non smoking, peace and quiet, fitness center.
October 30 2007: The Oberoi is right in the middle of the action in Bangalore. Right across the street from the Intel, Siemens, and TRX buildings. Also just down the street from other biggies that have operations in Bangalore.
Room was fantastic (including the courteous notice/desk card instructing me not to feed the monkeys or leave my balcony sliding door open ... or else). Service was great. Internet access seamless.
Restaurant in the hotel was good (we hosted a partner there for dinner). I also had the opportunity (really a "need" during my intercontinental road trip) to get a massage in the spa, and it was great.
Generally, an excellent hotel experience and worth the price.
