La Minerva

June 18 2007: I found La Minerva by accident when I was looking for a hotel after a last minute decision to go to Capri. It turned out to be gorgeous and also thankfully, pretty convenient. You can't drive up to it so you have to cart your own luggage to the hotel but the walk is easy and actually quite enjoyable for frequent jaunts into and around town. Our room had this gorgeous view, like all of Capri, but also of these lovely gardens. There isn't a pool at the hotel but I think they have an agreement with other hotels with pools but it's all about the beach and exploring in Capri, so I didn't really care or notice. The staff was great and had fun suggestions for us. Breakfasts were very tasty and there is an extensive collection of books and DVDs for borrowing. I LOVED all the white with blue accents in the hotel - it just felt so clean and fresh, and in perfect keeping with the views of gorgeous Capri.
