Owner Pim has the same profession as I had. So we have some common grounds.
A couple of years ago he and his wife Jane bought the Stadeshuys from the city under the condition that he would keep it as original as possible. In addition he had to keep the official Boardroom of the city, also the city's official wedding location as it was.
Het started off building a magnificient penthouse under the roof for his family. He renovated the City Boardroom cum wedding location. Finally he created two magnificient suites. The main being The Honeymoon Suite, the other the Dingy Suite.
Pim is an avid wind- and kitesurfer and also test surfer for a surf sailmaker. Actually he can do that in the backyard that boards on the IJsselmeer.
April 7, 2007 they oficially started operating the two suites. Already a year ago My wife and I had the privilege of a sneak pre stay in the then half ready honymoon suite.
Wheather permitting the views are spectacular: To some Amsterdam towers (approximately 25 miles away) on the one hand and to the dike on the other hand. This view you can also enjoy when seated in the classic bathtub with a nice wine.....imagine.
Unfortunately their website is only in Dutch so far.
Go for the view and the quiet Luxury
Date of stay: April 2006
