Las Americas Hotel

July 1 2008: I stayed here a few years back with my mother. She volunteers every year for Operation Smile to different countries and Peru is her one favorite. This hotel has been one of the choices for the volunteers and rec by Operation Smile. My mother has stayed here a few times and has always been pleased and always feels very safe. My experience was just as pleasant. Great location and close by to many shops and cafes in Lima - 15 min from beach. I walked the area on my free time and I, too felt very safe. The rooms are modern, nicely furnished spacious and very clean. The staff was very friendly and bi-lingual. The usual hotel amenities and I remember them having a business center with two computers but I don't remember if they offered internet....I am sure they do. I recall a lot of business travelers on my stay. I did not see too many children.

It is located in one of the best areas of Lima, Miraflores. Some cool little night clubs close by for salsa dancing, etc. I also remember a local street market/fair which was fun and I believe is open every day. Local artists and crafts and pottery. Very reasonably priced and a great location. I will def stay here again if I ever have the oppty to visit Lima again.
