A Great Hotel For One of My Favorite Cities
Historic, Quiet, Cozy
This is the first review written about this hotelMarch 17 2008:

Founded by Transylvanian Saxons during the 12th century, Sighisoara is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.  This hotel is a perfect launching pad for exploring the towers, cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches of the city that spawned Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), ruler of the province of Walachia from 1456 to 1462 and Bram Sroker's inspiration for Dracula.

The rooms in this hotel are old, and the decorations at times seem to be unnecessary attepts to modernize the facility.  The staff was friendly and helpful and many spoke good English (or at least understood my attempts at their language).  The food options in the city are better than those in the hotel!

Highly recommended city and this is where I would stay to see it.

Date of stay: July 1997
Purpose of stay: Leisure (With Partner)
