This is the first review written about this hotelJanuary 2 2008: I spent 5 days at the Golden Apple in Moscow earlier this month. Overcoming my initial apprehension about the high rates (400+ EUR/night, which is typical for Moscow these days), I loved it.  The staff were excellent, location is great (just off Tverskaya within walking distance of Kremlin/Red Square) and the food and service in the restaurant were top top quality.

My room was big enough, with most electronic and other necessities .... it reminded me of the Gansevoort in downtown Manhattan. Wifi was available - again at a price - throughout the hotel and it worked flawlessly.

Only negatives were the typical boutique hotel annoyances that you find in NYC, Paris or anywhere else - the layout of the bathroom was odd and took getting used to, the hangers were a strange and inconvenient design and there was a minimum of shelf space to store my clothes.

Overall, I enjoyed the Golden Apple very much and highly recommend it, especially to business travellers who may not be as sensitive to the high prices as tourist paying their own way. I would stay there again without hesitation.
