I love to travel! I prefer to stay at more luxury hotels, but try to be flexible based on my travel companions. I try to squeeze as much as possible into every day, including museums, galleries, and other sights, nice meals, and bars or lounges at night.

June 15 2007: The Marriot Royal Aurora Hotel is in an amazing location; perfect for a tourist trip. I think most of the other guests were business travelers. It's close to great restaurants, bars, the Kremlin, Red Square, and St. Basil's Cathedral. The service was wonderful. They have daily butler service that will bring you coffee every morning (free!) and a pretty good gym. It is a bit pricey, but so is everything in Moscow. It was a good value for the money, especially compared to other hotels in the area. I would stay there again.

Location. The Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora Hotel is located in central Moscow, Russia, one kilometre from Red Square. Hotel Features. This seven storey hotel features Art Nouveau architecture and an atrium lobby with a stained glass ceiling. A butler service is available to all guests and there are complimentary newspapers available in the lobby. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can offer currency exchange, concierge services and the use of a safe deposit box. The public areas have high speed wireless Internet access.
The Aurora Restaurant serves international dishes and Sunday brunch with live music and The Polo Club specialises in steaks.
Meeting and conference facilities are available and there is a business centre.
The hotel gym has fitness equipment and exercise classes and there is an indoor heated pool plus a sauna and a spa tub.
Guestrooms. The 230 guestrooms have light contemporary decor, bright fabrics and modern furnishings. All are equipped with satellite television with pay movies, air conditioning and high speed wireless Internet access. Other standard amenities include safes, CD players and minibars. Hair dryers and bathrobes are provided.
Expert Tip. The pedestrianised Old Arbat Street, three kilometres from the hotel, is a great place to observe everyday Moscow life with its many bars and cafés.
Visa Information: Some hotels can assist their guests to obtain a visa for entry to the Russian Federation. Hotels may charge a fee for this service. Guests may contact the Customer Support Centre to be put in touch with their hotel to arrange a visa. Hotels may in some instances refund visa assistance fees against the guests' hotel stay. If visa assistance is given and the reservation is subsequently cancelled then hotels may retain the cost of the first night's stay in addition to standard cancellation charges. Hotel fees in relation to visas vary, guests should check directly with the hotel for details.
