November 22 2007: If you are visiting Phuket Thailand, this is a great resort to stay at. We had beach views from our balcony, walk to the beach, and great local shops and food right out our door.

The Karona Resort & Spa at the heart of the Andaman Sea on Thailand's Phuket Island is enveloped by a tropical rain forest, a perfect retreat for couples on romantic holidays, sun and sand worshipers, and travelers on weekend getaways. Visitors can stroll less than a kilometer to Karon Beach and frolic in the white sand while marveling at gorgeous sunsets. Shoppers can browse for handmade crafts at Kata Center near the hotel, while the sights of downtown Phuket are 20 minutes away. The recreational menu includes bungee jumping, horseback riding, water skiing, rock climbing, golfing, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving and parasailing. Leisurely excursions ferry touring visitors to islands scattered around Southern Thailand. The Karona Resort and Spa's outdoor pools are linked by waterfalls and natural rock blanketed by ferns and tropical plants. The hotel's restaurant, Chilies, serves European and East meets West cuisines, especially fresh seafood from the Andaman. Thai food fans will applaud such delicacies as Tom Yum Kung and Pad Thai. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve Gala Dinners Gala dinner charges for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve will be collected at the hotel. These charges are not optional and will be charged to all guests, regardless of whether they attend the dinner. For stays on December 24, 2006, guests will be charged 2000 Thai Baht person (1000 Thai Baht for children under the age of 12). For stays on December 31, 2006, guests will be charged 2500 Thai Baht person (1250 Thai Baht for children under the age of 12).
