June 15 2007: Phuket is a neat area of Thailand, worth seeing as a change from the big cities. The beaches are clean and the hotel was quite pleasant. The public spaces are slightly nicer than the private rooms -- great pool, lovely buffet breakfast, several delicios restaurants to choose from for dinner. We used sea kayaks for an outing one morning, took a scuba diving day (some snorkeled) via the hotel planner and we also had a private yoga lesson one day - all were great. The Chedi is not near much - secluded and quiet with few things to walk to, but a great place to relax with a small group or a favorite book. You can travel into the town for about $2US (30 mins by car) to see the nightlift and try another restaurant. The Chedi is not a great choice for a young, spring break crowd but wonderful for adults looking to relax.
