This is the first review written about this hotelMay 8 2008:  Fortunately, I only had to spend one night here. A very lively, sexy hotel for singles and party cats. The interior is sophisticated with all white decor and seductive pink lighting. The rooms are nice and have a 42 inch plasma and comfy black chaises. Good beds but not so quiet. The bath products are provided by their spa Aqua but the bathroom had a musty smell to it. My room was located poolside which also comes with a large poolside chaise - very convenient on a busy Saturday. They have a small yet very dim gift shop to buy bikinis, jewelry, candy and magazines. I could barely determine whether the bikini I was buying was black or green and the sales girl there was not very helpful. I think she was just there to stand around and look pretty.

Beautiful interior lounge bars and restaurant.

There are two pools. One serenity pool, which I would of preferred but could not go b/c it was my friends 40th birthday party so we hung out at the "party pool" to celebrate - woohoo! She lives in Scottsdale and this was her hotel preference.

The party pool was just that - a PARTY POOL. Now before I go on a rant here, I am one of those gals that can go anywhere, have fun and not much really ruffles my feathers. I also like to go back to an establishment to give it one more try after an unpleasant experience. After living in LA for ten years, not much really shocks me anymore in terms of people and bad service. I def expected a scene here b/c I am familiar with the Mondrian in LA but I have to share that I was not expecting this atmosphere and this level of "attittude" I feel I have officially been exposed to it all here. The staff was not friendly or helpful and housekeeping was surprisingly snooty.

This pool and hotel for the most part is a big 'scene' - an unpleasant scene at least it was for me and my party. Not my thang at all but for other singles and party goers who want to be seen, heard and met then it maybe worth checking out. Men and women between the ages of 20 to early 50's partying and being rude to everyone. I think the motto here is, the more rude you are, the more attractive you become??? I think everyone was fearful of smile lines if they were to smile too much. At least, this is what we were observing. If you want some interesting people watching and entertainment then come on down. (I don't recall 5 inch stilettos, blingy jewelry and make up being the new "must-have" accessories with your bikini poolside-haha)

The only thing I enjoyed about the pool was the music but it was very loud b/c the speaker was next to my chaise lounge. We did not go in the pool b/c it was crowded and many were smoking all around it. I love to lounge poolside but not a sun worshipper so I had a hard time seeking shade here unless I wanted to rent a private cabana and that was not an option. My 18.00 frozen mojito was delicious but it took a little over an hour to retrieve. No apology from my server. The pool side servers skip in white bikini tops and cute little white shorts with tennis shoes and the evening gals strut their gams in just black bikinis and stilettos. Beautiful eye candy for the men ;) The evening scene is bit more entertaining.

Food is decent, a long wait and very pricey. A modern glam hotel close to many other bars, restaurants and galleries. In the heart of a happening party strip.

I had fun with my group of peeps but our biggest disappointment was the pretentious, non-attentive, smile lacking staff and snooty clientele. Not appealing when you pay 400 a night. I could not wait to get back to my cozy little room at The Gainey Suites.

Most of the above is tolerable and entertaining as long as you have good, friendly service. Maybe we were there on an "off weekend" and hopefully others will have a better and more pleasurable experience. It is a beautiful hotel. But, I am def not interested in returning here for a 'rinse & repeat'
