Two Thumbs Up for El Portal
Romantic, Classic, Quiet, Cozy, Stylish
April 28 2008: My wife and I frequent the Sedona area often from Phoenix. El Portal became our place of preference in the last few years for a cozy, upscale and personal stay.The place itself was built by the owners - or at least many, many of the details in the B&B. The rooms are simplistic, yet luxurious. Not overly done. But not budget minded either.
The location is right in the middle of everything - in a good way. However, it is not out from everything like Enchantment. Two totally different luxury experiences.
The owners often frequent the B&B - even though they have mgmt onsite always. He was always very kind, helpful and generally an intriguing individual. We enjoyed many conversations with him about the B&B, the Sedona area and architecturally re: the Sedona area. They are also pet-friendly. So you can bring your dog and they treat them right. Although we are not dog owners.
YOU MUST: Try the lemon pancakes at breakfast. AWESOME!
We've since bought a seond home in Sedona - but will be back for the pancakes and good conversation.
