July 23 2007: My wife and I spent the night on the club level floor after our civil ceremony in San Francisco. This hotel is a very special place. It's secluded on a bluff overlooking the pacific ocean. While it's a Ritz it's not stuffy and old feeling. It's got a modern contemporary feel to it.
The club level floor is worth every penny. You basically can hang out there all day where they serve 5 different meals to snack on. Bring some books and relax. Then at night go down to the lobby where outside they have a fire pit where you can get warm.
Fantastic hotel, and a great getaway for anyone who lives in the bay area.
Oh, they have a great golf course and spa.

June 8 2007: We did a corporate event here in 2003. The hotel was beautiful and the staff lived up to the Ritz moniker with courteous and professional service.Two things in particular make this hotel stand out - its location and its golf course. I recommend an ocean view room which will give you a view of the course and the Pacific Ocean behind it. Also, getting there by driving down Route 1 is half the fun. Perfect for a luxurious getaway or a corporate outing.

November 8 2007: This hotel is tucked away in sleepy, charming & quaint Half Moon Bay. It has tons of amenities. I particularly like their restaurant (Navio), which serves fabulous food, and bar that features a pianist on the weekends; both overlook the ocean, with giant windows across the wall. The hotel offers a lovely high tea, spa and wonderful walking trails that meander around the area. It's not unusual to spot an occasional whale and sea lions of course.

September 10 2007: As far as I'm concerned, The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is a resort hotel - without the resort activities. Aside from the breathtaking views on the golf course, you are not going to take a dip in the frigid waters down the cliff. If your idea of a vacation is pure relaxation however, read on.
The hotel has a nice unique design - luckily it is not the stodgy Ritz-Carlton here but a more relaxed classic elegance. I loved the light sea-inspired room decor. If you can, get a ground floor room which comes with it's own fire pit - if not you'll have to share the giant bonfire with all the other guests. We also had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant - great food, obviously not a cheap meal, but the ambience was worth it.
We were visiting the Bay Area and wanted to take a trip out to the coast, so we chose this hotel. However we were in go-go-go mode and ended up being slightly bored. However, you ask 'would I return?' For a romantic getaway, with nothing but relaxation and a good book on the agenda - yes. Otherwise, I'll *resort* myself to other places.
