I love to travel, preferably without a backpack. A perfect day of travel includes museums, exploring new places on foot and ending the day with a nice place to stay.
June 8 2007: The Heritage House is situated above the cliffs in Mendocino. It is a bit outside of the village, but that is what makes is special. The Heritage House is comprised of cabins that are private and boast stunning views of the coastline. It is very private. Once situated we never saw another person. Everyone gathers in the main building for dinner. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is romantic. This is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend getaway.

I'm a software engineer in Silicon Valley working on Hotmail. I'm also a new parent. My wife and I both love to travel and are always looking for great memorable places to stay.
June 11 2007: One thing that makes this place great is that it's pretty remote. About a 10 min drive from Mendocino it's on the ocean side of route 1, with views of the pacific and nice bluffs along the ocean.
The rooms are all different, so make sure you book something you will like. Some are renovated and some are older. The dining room is great, you should have one meal there. The wine list is good and reasonable.
This is a great place to escape to for a weekend anniversary getaway. There is some very good low key wine tasking in Anderson Valley, and some excellent restaurants in downtown Mendocino.
