This is the first review written about this hotelJuly 23 2007: The first weekend I moved to San Francisco from Atlanta, I decided to treat myself to a stay in a hotel in the city before going to the East Bay. I happened across a fantastic rate for this hotel and jumped on it. 4.5 stars for under $200 a night? Jackpot!

When I arrived at the hotel late that night, the staff called me by name (what?! you don't get this at the Holiday Inn - or hell, even more expensive hotels), and told me they had turned down my sheets so I could get to sleep. This begun one of many love affairs I've had in this city.

First of all, their beds are AMAZING. I could (and have) reserved a room just to lay in the bed for a weekend. The service is fantastic too.. one time I forgot my laptop charger and the concierge happily went through boxes of Dell chargers to look for one that would fit my computer. When he couldn't find one, he offered to have someone go to CompUSA or another computer store to get one for me. I felt bad considering it was only a couple miles away and declined... but the fact that he offered cemented my loyalty to this hotel forever.. if the beds hadn't already gotten me.

Every time I've stayed here the staff has gone above and beyond to make my stay the best possible experience. I don't think it's possible to love a hotel more than I love Le Meridien San Francisco.

Bed Score: 5 stars - AWESOME!

Geek Score: 4 Stars - Internet is $12.95 a night, but you get 4mbps download.

Great location, boutique feel, with SPG points!

March 11 2008: We stayed at the Le Meridian for one night for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday.  The Le Meridian, formerly known as the Park Hyatt, was a quiet, unpretentious, and comfortable hotel that has aged well with its Asian inspired, minimalist decor.  The location is right near the Embarcadero Center, so very convenient if not that "alternative"  The room was spacious, quiet, and well appointed.  The concierge recommended a local french bistro for us to have dessert (Jeanty at Jack's) and even provided a quick ride via the hotel car to the restaurant!  While it may be a little less hip then the W or St. Regis near to the SFMoMA, and less convenient to shopping than the Union Square hotels, it is a nice place for both business and a quick romantic getaway.

Date of stay: December 2007
Purpose of stay: Leisure (With Partner)
