January 14 2008: I have stayed at this hotel MANY times. (I stayed there at least once a month for 2 years while with a former employer.) The staff is fantastic; they got to know me and greated me by name. It is a few blocks away from Georgetown and the metro. It has a nice gym and is convenient to many great restaurants. The rooms on the 10th floor are nicer than on other floors (excluding the 9th floor, which is the Fairmont Gold floor and costs more to stay on)

Hotel Features. The hotel's elegant, light filled lobby overlooks a popular wedding site, the garden courtyard, that features a fountain and is furnished with umbrella shaded tables. Juniper Restaurant offers indoor and garden dining, and is decorated in botanical hues. The menu lists mid Atlantic fare and regional Chesapeake dishes. The Colonnade Room serves Sunday Brunch. The Lobby Lounge prepares contemporary American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The 24 hour business center houses four computer stations and is staffed during business hours. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee in public areas. The Fairmont Washington D.C. boasts one of the district's largest fitness and health facilities. The health club contains massage and beauty treatment rooms, a lap pool, tanning booths and steam rooms. The fitness facility overlooks the indoor pool and contains television mounted cardiovascular and weight training machines, Pilates equipment, squash and racquetball courts, a half basketball court, Kinesis machines and a spinning room.
Guestrooms. This 10 story hotel offers 415 guestrooms equipped with high speed Internet access for a fee, and CD players. Rooms feature light earth tones with gold highlights, marble or glass topped furniture, and armchairs paired with ottomans. Rooms include honor bars. Complimentary in room safes are provided. Bathrooms feature Botticino marble tiles, bathrobes, slippers, weight scales and lighted magnifying mirrors. Bathrooms are stocked with Molton Brown toiletries. Gold level rooms feature DVD players, flat screen televisions, and lounge access with complimentary breakfasts and afternoon treats. Select rooms include balconies with courtyard views.
Expert Tip. The herb garden located in the courtyard supplies fresh lavender used in the Juniper Restaurant's recipes, including the popular lavender biscuits. During summer months, the restaurant hosts Thursday night outdoor barbecues in the courtyard.
