In fact this whole area has a focus on servicing conference needs considering the Orange County Convention Center is right there too.
However, the location is also a choice for those looking to visit all the area theme parks and other vacation attractions, since it’s within a few minutes of most of them.
That was the problem. There must’ve been as many kids there as adults, including huge groups on buses from all over. As to be expected, they were generally loud and annoying, and unfortunately in the room above us.
I believe they were playing soccer or basketball or something up there into the night. So I called the front desk who promised to send up someone, but it never did much good. I finally went up there myself and found a guy sitting on a chair in the middle of the hall.
Turns out he was a chaperone, who apologized and promised to deal with his charges. But kids are kids and no one sleeps till they do, no matter how much they’re threatened. So for a couple nights we didn’t get much sleep.
I would’ve expected a lot more sound attenuation from a supposedly first-rate hotel, but was extremely disappointed.
The problem is trying to cater to all these different interests, and ultimately not doing a real good job for any.
The room and amenities themselves were fine, as was the service. Had there been no one above, or they were quiet, it would’ve been a good stay.
But I have to give this property low marks since they failed in delivering on their primary purpose, which is providing a place to get a good nights sleep. That means a comfortable bed and quiet surroundings.
I mean when you spend big bucks for a place to sleep, you should above all else get that. Everything else pales to insignificance if that part gets screwed up, and it really doesn’t matter what else the hotel offered.
