I have not been to many destinations and there are quite a few to cross off my list. I get to go to Europe and NYC for work few times a yr so good deals are important. I like shopping, fashion, skiing and girl getaways and road trips to Vegas and Mexico.

May 13 2008: I stay here every time I go to Chicago for work. My boss always reserves a room here for me because she gets a corp rate and knows I am single. ha! Clean bright stylish rooms. Views of the lake. Nice hip attractive crowd lingers in the lobby and at the hip Whiskey Bar. Great food. Staff is friendly and very attractive. They have the usual amenities and good mini bar. It is a lively hotel and it is always quiet, at least in my room.
Nice fitness center and spa. I am not a big fan of Bliss beauty products but these are the ones provided here. Nice location and close to shops, Navy Pier and beach. I have always liked the W hotels and never have had a bad experience at any of their hotels. I stayed at the other W hotel on Clark but prefer this location much better.

April 22 2008: The W Lakeshore is a fun place with a lively "scene" and great view of the lake. The rooms are modern, the pool is nice, the gym is sufficient (although get there early to get a machine), and there's a club on the top floor. That said, as a Starwood Preferred member I stayed there for 3 months and no one seemed to know my name or tried to offer assistance to me in any way. That's great if you're too cool for personalized attention, but definitely not a "home away from home" on the road.

Expert Tip. What are the odds that guests can chat with the hotel's General Manager and work out with a personal trainer at the same time? Early risers can consider their chances very good at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when the General Manager and a personal trainer meet guests for sunrise summertime workouts at nearby Ontario Beach.
