September 20 2007: We had a wonderful time at the White Elephant. It is a lovely, intimate hotel with wonderful food and incredible service. It is located in close proximity to most of the shopping and restaurants right on the water. Our room was recently renovated and everything seemed very new and well-kept. Though it was a bit excessive - it sure was nice. The spa is small but excellent and the bar and restaurant menu serves up some of the best food on the island. There is also a well-equipped gym which was a nice surprise since most boutique hotels don't have these. If we were to go back to Nantucket, we would stay here again.

November 8 2007: The setting on harbors edge provides a view of the marine activity from the lawn while reading or just meditating on how fortunate you are to be there. A short walk into the town if you want to shop or take in the last century feel. The restaurants are varied and accesable by foot.
the hotel is on a plesant scale. The staff is courtious and helpful without fawning on the guests. The hotel restaurant is overlooking the lawn & harbor and is attractive. Eating outside is particularly nice.
The hotel is similiar to The Inn At Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD. I believe if you like one you will like the other.
