March 22 2008: We could not find a last minute NYC hotel under 1K a night and decided to check out a B&B. This was like staying your Grandmother's house, if she lived in a fabulous location in the city. We stayed in the 6th floor 3 bedroom suite (no elevator) w/kitchen. Great deal for $550, they normally have a 4 night min, but allowed me to book for less last minute. It was a little old and dated, but very clean and comfortable with two beautiful fireplaces ($35 if you lit them). We unfortunately picked the bedroom on the front of the house and it has been a long time since I lived in the city. I forgot how loud it can be. A co-worker thought it was great and he decided to stay with us as well. It was fabulous to have a place for everyone to come back to after dinner and hang out.
We loved how close we were to Central Park for a quick run in the morning. We also enjoyed Elio's for dinner on 2nd at 82nd.
My only complaints would be that there were rules posted everywhere and a dissertation that was emailed to me about additional rules and their check-in procedure.
Date of stay: March 2008
Purpose of stay: Business
