Stuffy and not worth the money

July 18 2008: We decided to splurge and stay at the world famous Carlyle hotel. We were not impressed. Some of the staff provided great service--others seemed quite indifferent. The room was very small and outdated. Liked the Kiehl products. Had a very expensive hamburger in the downstairs restaurant which was overpriced and overcooked. The hotel has elevators which were manned by elevator operators--thought that was pretty cool--seemed like something from another era. Liked the Kiehl bath products. I'd rather pay a little more and stay at the St. Regis. Will not return.

Location. The Carlyle Hotel is located in New York City, N.Y., on the Upper East Side. The hotel is one block from the Whitney Museum of American Art and Central Park.
