I prefer a combination of activity (hiking, jogging, swimming) on vacation, relaxation (reading), and good meals. Small hotels are preferable to big chains and historical settings are ideal.

August 29 2008: Wonderful location in the middle of San Francisco, half a block off of Union Square. The bistro has lovely food and you are steps from shopping and culture of SF. The amenities were great -- our son's crib came with a rubber duckie, baby wash, baby powder, and a teddy bear. Wonderful service. Easy to get to Chinatown, the Marina (bus/taxi ride), financial district & Fisherman's Wharf.

Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, just off Union Square, Campton Place Hotel is known as a refuge for the sophisticated traveler, providing an elegant, quiet, and intimate boutique atmosphere. Exquisite interiors maintain the hotel's old-world charm, while distinct 21st-century touches update its ambience. San Francisco's financial district, airline offices, art galleries, designer boutiques, department stores, theater, and cable cars are all within walking distance, while the San Francisco Airport is just 25 minutes away.
