Great Memphis boutique
Luxurious, Hip, Historic, Stylish, Business People
This is the first review written about this hotelJuly 11 2007: Heavy on the music imagery, Madison Hotel is a very good boutique hotel in downtown Memphis, about two blocks from Beale and three blocks above the river.

Free Internet and breakfast in the attached restaurant (worthwhile), good fitness center with small pool. In my two stays (March and June 2007), they have not done much with the rooftop which offers fantastic views of Memphis and the Mississippi.

Just as old but more stylish than the Peabody, service is very, very good. Parking is next door in the garage, but doesn't offer 24-hour access. Use valet if you need access long after business hours. When booking, keep an eye out for 'Internet Rates' which are $30-50/night below the rack rates.

I might try the brand new Westin when I'm in Memphis next time, but it would have to be really, really good to beat the Madison.

Dates of stay: March and June 2007
