The Omni - Very Friendly Staff, Perfect

October 28 2007: The Omni is a real safe bet. For starters, the staff here seem to be exceptionally well-trained, or well-hired, or both! I have stayed here several times and they have always been incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a big plus.
Second, the Omni is, especially if you're traveling without a car, in the best location in C'ville. It is situated on one end of the historic Downtown Mall, a walking mall that is really the community center of the town, with plenty of amazing restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and antique shops to help you pass the time.
The rooms are nice, but nothing to write home about. It's the great service, and perfect location, that makes this hotel special. Oh, and a nice lobby with its 10 floor atrium doesn't hurt. I'd also seriously consider booking your business event here, there are extensive meeting facilities.

September 25 2007: Don't get me wrong - the Omni is a perfectly good hotel, and a fine place to spend the night, but it really wasn't my cup of tea.
The staff were friendly and courteous (always a plus), but the room overlooked the atrium, the windows didn't open, and the lift shaft was feet from the room. The beds were comfortable, the hotel is very well located, and the room service was Not Bad.
In all, a perfectly good hotel, and I'd recommend it to anyone, but my personal experience there was marred by the placement of our room.

June 9 2007: I stayed with in the Omni Hotel with a colleague whilst on business last November. The hotel brands itself as a luxury hotel and I wasn't disappointed. After an extremely pleasant greeting, I was escorted to the room and made to feel very welcome. The room was nice and spacious and the beds were to die for. Seriously, those were probably the two best nights sleep of my life! The room also looked over the hotel's inner courtyard which made for interesting viewing from time to time. It didn't beat a nice countryside view, but it was nice nonetheless.
Each room had free wi-fi access, and a large desk in which to work on, so we were able to keep a pace with business back home.
Unfortunately breakfast wasn't included but it was only a short walk to the Charlottesville high street - incidently, the town is gorgeous. Very tranquile, clean, and friendly. Will definately be back!

October 2 2008: People who work at the Omni could not be friendlier or more helpful. Sure, the rooms could use a face lift, but the amenities were adequate. You also can't beat the location. Step outside the door and you are among the great restaurants/shops of Charlottesville's pedestrian mall.
