This is the first review written about this hotelJune 8 2007: Keswick Hall is by far one of the best hotels in central virginia. The hotel itelf is beautiful, not to mention the natural beauty of the Keswick area. The staff is five-star-helpful, pleasant and charming. The food is excellent, known nationally. The rooms are gorgeous - tastefully decorated, every detail perfect. The grounds are well tended to and the infinity pool looks on to the golf course I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious 'country estate' experience.

June 21 2007: Keswick is first a private club 15 mins from Charlottesville- golf, tennis, swimming, dining, with a lovely Orient Express hotel as part of it. This is nicer than Farmington and Boar's Head, the two comparable local choices. The grounds are better kept, more private, and the experience is more special. The Fossets restaurant is one of the best in the area, but they also have room service (which we greatly enjoyed) and a more casual eating option. The gym is wonderful for a hotel gym because the facilities are part of the country club. Plenty of activities and great views. There's a separate pool for the hotel so you don't have to mingle with the private club regulars.

The steam shower was perfect after a formal evening. The rooms are well decorated: conservative, some antiques and 'art', comfortable. Nice sheets. Quiet.

I'm not sure why they call this "at Monticello" - you have to get on the interstate to drive to Monticello, about 20 minutes. Technically, I think it's only 2 mountains over, but it's not right at Jefferson's home as the name might lead you to believe.
